Privacy & cookies

This page explains what information Beehive Wellbeing collects, why, and what you can do about it. If you have any questions, email beehivewellbeing@gmail.com.
Who we are
Beehive Wellbeing is run by Louise Murrey, based in Gainsborough, Lincolnshire, and runs workshops and events in other areas too. We're responsible for the information described here.
What we collect
- When you get in touch (contact, private events or retreat interest forms): your name, email, phone number and message, plus any details you choose to give, such as dates, numbers and budget.
- When you book: your name, contact details, what you booked and payment status. Card payments are handled by our payment provider; we never see or store your card details.
- When you join our mailing list: your email address (and name if given).
- When you browse the website: which pages you view, the type of device, which website or app sent you here, and a rough area worked out from your internet connection (for example a town). We don't store your internet (IP) address.
Cookies and visit history
If you choose Accept on our cookie banner, we place a cookie on your device so our website can recognise you when you come back. This lets us see how often people return, how long visits last and which pages are most popular.
If you also contact us or book, we may link your visits to your details. This helps us understand what you're interested in, for example a particular retreat, so we can give you relevant information and, where you've agreed to hear from us or are an existing customer, let you know about things you might like.
If you choose No thanks, no cookie is used to recognise you. We still count visits anonymously (without cookies) so we know how many people use the site.
| Cookie | What it's for | How long |
|---|---|---|
| bh_consent | Remembers whether you accepted or declined cookies | 12 months |
| bh_vid | Recognises your device on return visits (only if you accept) | 13 months |
Why we use your information
- To reply to you and arrange what you've asked for (taking steps at your request, and our legitimate interest in running the business).
- To manage bookings and payments (to fulfil our contract with you).
- To send our newsletter (your consent; you can unsubscribe at any time).
- To understand how the website is used and improve it (your consent for cookies; our legitimate interest for anonymous counts).
Who we share it with
We never sell your information. We use a small number of trusted companies to run the website and the business. They only use your information to provide their service to us:
| Company | What they do for us | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Hetzner Online | Hosts our website and stores the information described on this page (our server) | Germany (EU) |
| Stripe | Takes card payments when you book or buy a voucher online. Stripe handles your card details; we never see them. | UK / EU, with transfers to the US under approved safeguards |
| Brevo | Sends our emails, such as booking confirmations and our newsletter, and stores our mailing list | EU (France) |
| ImprovMX | Passes on emails sent to our @beehivewellbeing.co.uk addresses to our inbox | EU / US, under approved safeguards |
| Google (Gmail) | Our email, so replies and messages about your enquiry or booking pass through it | UK / EU / US, under approved safeguards |
| ntfy.sh | Sends a "new enquiry" alert to our phone. It contains no personal details, just the type of enquiry | EU / US |
| Anthropic (Claude) | An AI assistant we use to build and look after the website. While doing so it may see information stored on our server, such as enquiries or bookings | US, under approved safeguards |
| Wix | Ran our previous website and holds earlier bookings and messages, until our account is closed | EU / US, under approved safeguards |
Our mailing list is moving from Mailchimp (Intuit, US) to Brevo. Until the move is complete, Mailchimp also holds the email addresses of people on our list.
Rough location is worked out on our own server using an offline database (IP geolocation by DB-IP). Your information isn't sent to them.
We may also share information if the law requires it, for example with HMRC for tax records.
How long we keep it
- Visit history: up to 13 months.
- Enquiries: 2 years, unless they lead to a booking.
- Bookings and payment records: as long as needed for accounts and tax (usually 6 years).
Your rights
You can ask to see the information we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, object to how we use it, or withdraw consent at any time. Just email beehivewellbeing@gmail.com. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
